Frequently Asked Questions (and UFO's)

Unfortunate Feminine Oppression- Coined by yours truly, a victim herself.  While scanning my brain for the common questions posed by my clients,  I realized that very often the questions are actually statements.....beliefs about themselves that have become roadblocks, and they seek a safe passageway. Statements like "I never take a good photo" (please, allow me!); or "I need to lose weight first" (see below) " I hate my smile" (this is because it crinkles your eyes.) You don't tell me this about your eyes, but I know. What I want you to know is that when you smile your whole face and whole being come to life: you glow! Your warmth and beauty eclipse any line or flaw you are conscious of. Perhaps you are not in love with your smile, but trust me, the world is in love with your smile. 

I am a pro, and I'm dedicated to creating images that you love, flaws and all. I'm also a pro in 'post' (photoshop.)  My goal is the same as yours- we are on the same team from the moment we first speak, and through your photoshoot, until forever.

This one breaks my already broken heart. Because, I get it. In the best shape of my younger selfs life (some 20+ years ago) I thought I was 'fat.'  I worked out 2 xS per day, and had for many years. I  was obsessed with my physiques flaws, missing out on life while I beat myself into 'almost' shape.  I focused on my cellulite, prayed it would dissolve, vowed that it would smooth itself and reveal my hard earned muscles.  I lost that war, as you imagine, and I never took the leap to the nude photo session I wanted so badly. What I'd give to have those photos now. Further, what I'd give to have had that experience!   Since becoming a portrait photographer,  I have witnessed first hand how women come to me with uncertainty and doubt masking their  body shame.  They leave empowered, joyful, and hopeful, knowing that their body is good, it is beautiful as it is. The grip that 'perfection' has had over them, is loosened, and they open their hearts and minds to the imperfect and beautiful life ahead. 

Alternatively, yes I can photoshop the lb's away!   Do not worry, we are a team.

Absolute confidentiality, respect and consent are required, and guaranteed. Only with your specific consent, in writing, will we ever share or show any image or part of image, or in any way breach this promise. You, and every future client are far too important to us. By the way, most of our clients are regular working professional women who do not want their images shared. 

You are in the hands of professionals. During our pre-consult we will guide you regarding wardrobe, discover your vision and how you wish to be depicted.  We will ask you questions you may not have considered, and hopefully provide suggestions and resources intended to navigate the wardrobe puzzle.

 During our initial consultation we will not only discuss wardrobe, but also the lack thereof.  Nude, semi nude and implied nude styles, sets, options and your boundaries are explored in advance, and understood. Our clients personal boundaries define the entire experience, it is completely up to you how much or how little you want to wear, or not wear.  From your head to your toes, this is your call, 100%.

Posing = Anxiety in almost every case!  Do not worry, you are in good hands. We understand you are not a professional model, so we offer guidance, instructions, and even demonstrations, examples all along the way. Our goal its exactly the same as your goal, this is so important and the reason we approach each session with a collaboritive mind set.

Our photo sessions and services are custom designed for each client. A private (and free) consultation is offered to each client and is necessary for us to provide an accurate, personal quote.   Our process is a collaborative and creative one, and each client is guaranteed the undivided attention and commitment to excellence and above all, a remarkable experience. This  takes communication and it takes time.

" Our clients spend an average of $4500 which includes heirloom wall art, and our hand crafted Demi Album;  hair and makeup stylist, the consultation, the photoshoot day (we ask you to reserve the day for us, we do the same for you, to avoid looming or stressful  time commitments); the post processing and retouching,  and design of art products, wall art; and a post reveal order session; even delivery of wall art and products is included.
